Welcome to my blog, which is intended to be a curious mix of meanderings through storytelling, poetry, spirituality and a variety of disciplines, told from a view that’s slightly askew. I love the playfulness of language and the emotion of music and poetry, and the connectedness of all things. As a child, I grew up in homes on Fiddlers Green Road, then Book Road. Interesting, then, that these real place names served as a symbolic metaphor of a life so enriched by music and literature.
I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, part of a community. I believe that, in sharing our stories, we weave the strands of our common humanity and become a blessing to each other.
Because I was born with a large part of my vision in my right eye obscured by scarring, I’ve always felt that I viewed much of the world from the periphery. My hope is that what I lacked in 20/20 eyesight could be compensated by an unusual perspective and a different kind of insight. So, this blog is entitled “Peripheral Ponderings.” It will be an eclectic mix, so enjoy!
